Late March, 2001
- homemade reinforcement for emergency brake handle. It's my
understanding that later Shell Valley bodies have this already laminated
into the tunnel. |
 |
 |
| Late March, 2001
- Emergency brake installed. |
March, 2001 -
After clear coat the body sees the light of day for the first time.
NOTE: body trolley made from 2x4s, a must when building one of these
vehicles. |

| Homemade
reinforcement for top of drivers footwell. It was my opinion that the
mounting surface for the clutch and brake pedal was too light for normal
service. hence we fabricated this reinforcement plate from 1/16'' steel
plate. Problem solved! no more flexing in the footwell area. |
June, 2001 - Ah
yes its Sunday morning and I'm coating sidepipes. After prep they
were coated with vht hi temp paint to duplicate the finish of the
original cobras. |

| June, 2001 -
Custom made pillow block used to mount steering column to cowl hoop.
Shell Valley suggests spacing column to hoop with a wood block to set
column height and clamping with a u-bolt. There has to be a better
way! After I determined the dimensions and drew up a rough blue print
our good friends at Hodgin Machine made this Aluminum Pillow block that
worked perfectly the first time. |
Late June, 2001
- Backside of instrument panel showing wiring to gauges. This
harness I had to fabricate. It was constructed so that it just
"plugs in" to the main harness by the glove box thus
making it much more serviceable than just hardwiring the main harness
directly to the gauges By now finishing up by Americruise
time is starting to look a little "shaky". |

 |
| July, 2001 -
Marking and cutting for the defroster outlets. No mistakes allowed at
this stage. |
July, 2001 -
Finally! the body is on the frame. Long way to go but it's getting there. |
 |
 |
| Late August,
2001 - The Cobra is drivable. Have a lot of small "detail"
work to do yet at this stage. Note '' vintage '' decals. These are
actually cling on vinyl so you can remove them and reuse them as you see
fit. Available from "The Finish Line" out of Florida. |
October, 2001 -
Not a high quality photo but a Ford lovers delight. Our 67 Cobra replica

with a "mint" low mileage '67 427 Corvette This car
belongs to one of our customers, it's so original it still has the smog
